Maps - General
One of the
unique benefits of our sport is the creation of high quality maps. Through
the efforts of its members, the Victoria Orienteering Club have built up an
inventory of orienteering maps for many local parks and recreational areas.
Map of Victoria Area - This
shows the areas mapped for orienteering.
original print copies of our maps are available to the public from VictOrienteers
at a cost of $5. Note that these maps are highly detailed (>1000 dpi),
and are printed with water-resistant inks on water-resistant papers. For more
information, please contact our map curator Diana (250) 477-7624.
that possession of a map for an area does not imply permission for access!
All appropriate rules, regulations, and laws still apply. The Victoria Orienteering
Club and its members are strongly committed to the protection of our environment.
Leave only footprints. Better yet, leave nothing at all.
Two types of images are available to view the detail of the maps that we have
available. These are available in two resolutions. The first type is at full
size, but at a much lower resolution (~60 dpi) than the printed copies. The
second type is at full resolution, but will show only a small section of the
that all the maps listed, and all the online images, are copyrighted material.
