ESQUIMALT STREET-O
Sunday, January 29, 2012
A baker's dozen of 13 tenacious orienteers showed
up to brave the
continuous light rain for the annual Esquimalt Street Orienteering
event. Thankfully we were able to use the Esquimalt Curling Club
entrance for registration and finish which made at least the beginning
and end of the event pleasant. An 8 degree Celsius temperature also made the
wet 90 minute run bearable. Welcome to Malte Rehbein who joins our
club for at least a couple of months from Germany, and who looks to
give our top runners a run for their money. And a big congratulations
to Chris Ling for an almost perfect score.
A special mention goes to Kirsten who had to bicycle
back and forth in
the rain from UVic to Esquimalt to participate. Thanks to Andrea
Gagnon and Leigh Bailey for helping with registration and finish.
