A great turn-out for our first week of the Determinator.

Todd Nowak (running as he walked all of last year’s races due to injury) was two minutes ahead of the field. But using 2011 handicaps several Determinators sneaked in ahead of him, sacrificing their high handicaps and setting up some good competition for the next few weeks. Nobody had a clean run. That tricky number 6 control, reminded us all to check those control descriptions! Over confidence on an easy, familiar map? Duncan and most of the experienced orienteers found the best control to skip was #4. And was this the first Determinator without a Lay family member?
