Sprint events use easy controls in complex urban areas, requiring the orienteer to concentrate
on the fasted route choice and speed. They can be enjoyed by experienced competitors looking
to orienteer fast and those just learning orienteering, because the controls are easy, which
makes for a great way to learn the sport.

There will be an opportunity for a tutorial for new orienteers at 12.30 pm.

Location:
UVIC Parking lot just off Gordon Head Road. If you are travelling to UVIC on Mackenzie Road,
turn right on Gordon Head just before you reach the campus and look for the parking lot on the
left before Cedar Hill Cross Road. There will be orienteering signs to help guide you in.

Cost:
$8 plus a yearly member ship fee of $5 (annual membership is free for new members).
Please bring your own whistles (required) and compass (optional).
If required, whistles may be purchased at registration for $2 and compasses
may also be rented at registration for $2.
