Island Series - 2010

The island series consists of a number of events scheduled by the Victoria Orienteering Club, which allow participants to collect points for participation and placement within the top of their category divided by gender.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR THE 2010 ISLAND SERIES

The standings for the Island Series are normally determined by participation and performance.
Points for Participation are given to officials (organizers) and anyone attempting a course.
Performance Points are awarded to the best orienteering results.

This year has been very difficult to evaluate performances, due to: hosting the BCOC’s, DNF’s, and cancellations of events. The committee has decided to drop the Performance category, for this year; and determine the Top Ten strictly by participation (the backbone of any club)

Three points will be given to anyone showing up at any event site: officials, helpers, viewers, runners and walkers. All 2010 events will be counted, and not only the designated Island Series event on the schedule.
